Meet Your Instructor!

Julie Brickhouse is the founder of Accessible Disciples, a ministry devoted to equipping churches to welcome, include, and disciple individuals with disabilities and their families. A retired special education teacher with over 35 years of experience, she continues her work in the field through part-time consulting and mentoring at a local university, supporting current and future special educators and strengthening practices that meet the unique needs of each learner.
Through Accessible Disciples, Julie develops practical training, resources, and support systems that empower ministry leaders and volunteers to serve with confidence, compassion, and intentionality. Her approach blends professional expertise with a deeply personal calling, emphasizing relationships, accessibility, and sharing the Gospel in ways that are meaningful for all learners.
Julie is passionate about helping churches move beyond awareness to meaningful inclusion—creating spaces where every individual is seen, valued, and fully welcomed as part of the body of Christ.
